Elementary Paraprofessional

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the kindergarten teacher with classroom management and instructional activities.
- Provide support to students in small groups and one-on-one settings to reinforce learning concepts.
- Help prepare instructional materials and resources for lessons.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the teacher on individual student needs and challenges.
- Assist students with assignments, projects, and other academic activities, ensuring understanding of tasks.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional periods to ensure safety and engagement.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as grading and organizing student work.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Prior experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the educational development of kindergarteners.
- Basic knowledge of child development and effective instructional strategies.
- Familiarity with classroom technology and educational software is a plus.
